USA State Wreslting Meet Info

Attached please find the schedule for the USA Wrestling kids state folkstyle tournament held in Rochester MN on March 9th, 10th and 11th. The wrestling times and weigh in times vary by the age division of your wrestler, so make sure you take a good look at the schedule to make sure you know when to weigh in and wrestle. USA age brackets are determined by birth year and not grade. I have attached the age bracket sheet for you as well.
You do need to preregister your wrestler for this meet, so walk ups are not accepted. The Pee Wee and Bantam age groups do not need to declare a weight this year. Those 2 age groups will be bracketed by scratch weight, so there is no need to make a certain weight group. If your wrestler is an Intermediate or older, you will need to declare a weight class for the state meet. The weight brackets for each of the older age groups are listed on the link below. If your wrestler gets heavier after you register, you can bump up one weight class from your declaration, but you cannot move down a weight from where you registered, even if you weigh in light enough to make it. Keep this in mind when registering.

Wrestlers need to qualify for the state meet by earning at least 25  points at a USA qualifier tournament, like ours was. To see a list of qualified wrestlers, go to the Minnesota USA wrestling website. The list will change every week as more wrestlers qualify, so feel free to check it often. Here is the link.

USA Wrestling Cards

I have printed out the USA Wrestling cards for our athletes. I still have a few left to be picked up. See me between practices if you still need yours.

There is a Waiver that needs to be signed by a parent/guardian, that I need to send in the state organization, before I can give the card out. I will not hand out the cards directly to the kids, since they cannot sign the waiver themselves.

Directions for printing your own card directly from the internet can be found by clicking:
Here

Just scroll down the page to the section titled "Print your USA Membership Card"   You will have to create a USA Wrestling account to print it yourself.

USA cards are only required to wrestle at USA Wrestling sanctioned events, such as state qualifiers, like our event is. Tournament flyers will usually state if a card is required to wrestle at that event, or if you see "USA State Qualifier" on a flyer or the internet, you will know that you have to show your card at that event.
